The hangars at Skyway Center—located adjacent to San Carlos Airport—are all named in tribute to pioneering female aviators. They are a mix of private, semi-private, and community hangars.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Designed for Silicon Valley owners and pilots, the 50,000 SF complex consists of:
- Nine individual hangars, ranging from 2,000 SF to nearly 10,000 SF.
- A spacious, aviation members-only private lounge.
- 20,000 SF of leasable office, conference and event sapce.
Centrex provided comprehensive design and construction services.

A bright, modern entryway at San Carlos Airport’s Skyway Center, featuring high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and comfortable seating that welcomes visitors with light and space.

The facility's focus on luxury, convenience, and comfort is reflected in every detail, from the extensive natural light to the electrically operated uplifting bi-fold hangar doors.

Its office structure has unique features, including a conference room with retractable glass walls that offer a wonderful second-floor view to the east over the airport.

"The aviators who have made this their new home praise the quality that has been put into this construction," Martin Eisenberg, Skyway Center Manager.

SAN CARLOS AIRPORT
San Carlos Airport (KSQL) is a public general aviation airport in San Mateo County, California, located just northeast of San Carlos and beneath San Francisco International’s Class B airspace. Covering about 110 acres with a single 2,621-foot asphalt runway (12/30), it primarily serves small aircraft under 12,500 lbs. The airport is busy for its size, averaging over 200 operations per day—about 75,000 annually—with the vast majority being general aviation, alongside air taxi and minimal military activity. Around 323 aircraft are based on the field, mostly single-engine planes but also multi-engine aircraft, jets, and helicopters. Managed under a federal contract tower and overseen by Northern California TRACON, San Carlos Airport plays a critical role in Bay Area aviation.
